HOW DO I JOIN?

​

  1. Complete the 2020-2021 Membership Application located on the "Black Student Union at University of Houston" Get Involved page. You can visit this page by clicking here

  2. PAY YOUR DUES! To be sensitive to COVID-19 and the reality that not all events will be face-to-face, we have lowered our membership dues for the 2020-2021 academic school year. Our reduced dues are $20 for the academic school year.

 

Dues can be submitted via these preferred methods: CashApp $uhbsu or Venmo @uhblackstudentunion.  If submitting via PayPal to uhblackstudentunion@gmail.com, dues are $21 (to cover PayPal fees).

01 /  How will this organization benefit me?​

We are an interest-focused organization, so membership also gives students the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who are career oriented just like them. 

 

The Black Student Union prides itself on preparing students to be the best professionals they can be. Our goal is to help students establish and perfect their brand. Through workshops, networking practice & events, exclusive partnerships, and community service, we give students the courage and the knowledge to be a top competitor as an intern or employee in the business realm.

02 /  How can I get on the Executive Board?

In the Spring semester, we will have an election period. Only students who fit the qualifications for a leadership role will be considered. Qualifications will be posted closer to the election period.

03 /  How much does it cost? 

Dues are $20 for the academic school year, including a BSU shirt. Dues can be submitted via CashApp $uhbsu or Venmo @uhblackstudentunion. If submitting dues through PayPal at uhblackstudentunion@gmail.com, please send $21 to cover PayPal fees!

04 /  What does it mean to be an active member?

To remain in good standing as an active member, students must attend the Black Student Union meetings held throughout the year, join a standing committee, and follow all official BSU social media sites.
